Payroll Consultant

Our client is a top 10 professional services business, they work with national and international clients to ensure their accounting and tax compliance obligations are met. 

They are looking for a Payroll Consultant, responsible for overseeing and managing Global payroll services for high profile multinational clients. 

Working as part of a dedicated team you will take responsibility for running multiple client projects, liaising with international offices and managing an in-house team of payroll specialists to ensure services are provided to clients effectively and efficiently.

The team believe in good work-life balance and offer the following work flexible working patterns based around 4 or 5 days per week, including: 1 day working from home, early/ late starts and finishes, 4 days per week, 5 days condensed into 4 longer days

About the Role

The team now has an exciting opportunity for a Global Payroll Consultant to implement global outsourced payroll services for a portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring they meet client requirements and are consistent with Global Outsourcing standards and practices.

The Payroll Consultant will need to understand the client’s requirements and objectives and work with both in-country teams as well as Global Outsourcing in order to advise and implement Global Payroll. This could include drafting of the client’s specifications, advice on local country requirements, and configuration of the appropriate platform along with testing, training and review of the payrolls whilst under the care of the transition team.

The Payroll Consultant will often be the first point of escalation and will need to be proactive, identifying issues and driving resolution.

The candidate should be deadline driven, organised and efficient with an eye for detail and good communication skills.

Experience of global payroll and technical payroll knowledge is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and test Platforms as needed to match client requirements

  • Ensure parallel testing processes and requirements are fully documented and agreed with clients

  • Support and/or lead parallel and post-implementation activities: including the review of payroll results, co-ordination with clients and in-country teams, and issue identification & resolution

  • Manage ongoing projects, working with offshore teams in both Mauritius and Belfast to manage daily deliverables, dealing with escalations & queries

  • Lead Support and process requirements workshops with clients ensuring requirements are fully documented

  • Responsible for the management, delivery and support of Global payroll projects

  • Provide regular updates to both internal and external stakeholders, identifying specific issues and action plans for resolution

  • Define and maintain country-specific process documentation

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships internally as well as with the client and in-country teams

  • Assist in payroll bids and pre-sales activities including presentations and workshops

Desirable Experience:

  • CIPP or equivalent certification strongly preferred

  • Prince2 or equivalent qualification

  • Other languages are beneficial.
